Knoxville, Tenn. – Western Carolina senior Dakota Wright finished in fourth place in the men’s hammer throw on Saturday at the rain-shortened Tennessee Challenge held at Tom Black Track.

Wright, who was the only WCU student-athlete entered in the meet, scored a fourth-place result in the hammer throw thanks to a personal record toss of 57.14 meters (187’6”). The Erwin, N.C. native’s best mark came on his fourth throw.

While the hammer throw and other morning events were completed, heavy rain around mid-afternoon forced the cancellation of the rest of the scheduled events.

WCU is back in action on Sunday, May 12 at the Lenoir-Rhyne Final Qualifier.
