Mount Olive, N.C. – Western Carolina junior forward Carlos Dotson was named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Men’s Basketball Second Team, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.
Dotson led the Catamounts with 13.9 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in 31 games played as he earned All-Southern Conference Third Team accolades. The Riverdale, Md. native ranked in the top 50 nationally in field goal percentage (25th), rebounds per game (30th), double-doubles (T-32nd), offensive rebounds per game (32nd) and total rebounds (45th). Dotson scored a season-high 27 points in three games, including in WCU’s regular season finale at ETSU and SoCon Tournament First Round game against VMI. He had 23 double-figure scoring games and 15 double-figure rebounding games along with 13 double-doubles during the 2018-19 season.
Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
