CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina softball concludes its California swing Tuesday traveling to Santa Barbara, Calif. for a doubleheader at UC Santa Barbara beginning at 3:00 p.m. eastern.

 

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:

  • Western Carolina went 1-4 at the LMU Tourney over the weekend picking up a thrilling 3-2 win over host Loyola Marymount.
  • The Catamounts’ win over LMU was the first victory over a team from California in the program’s history.
  • Junior Ashlyn Long leads the team with a .305 batting average with a team-leading 18 hits.
  • Senior Madison Armstrong is the other Catamount hitting .300 or above with a .302 batting average.

 

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE UC SANTA BARBARA:

  • UC Santa Barbara comes into the doubleheader with a record of 5-16 after being swept at a tournament hosted by Fresno State.
  • The last win for UC Santa Barbara came March 8 with a 7-5 win over California Baptist.
  • Sammy Fabian leads UCSB with a .452 batting average with 33 hits and four doubles in 21 games played.
