CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women’s tennis travels to Wake Forest and USC Upstate for a pair of road matches this weekend.

The Catamounts square off against Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the latter part of a doubleheader for the Demon Deacons. On Sunday, Western Carolina travels to Spartanburg, S.C. to tackle USC Upstate at noon.

Western Carolina is coming off a pair of losses to open the 2019 season falling to UNC Asheville 5-2 and Appalachian State 6-1.

Rookie Jacy Smith got her first win in singles, of the spring season, with a victory at No. 2 singles against UNCA.

Junior Jordan Strickland tacked another career win under her belt with a win at No. 1 singles against Appalachian State. She now has 26 career victories in singles ranking her fourth in the WCU record books. She needs one win to move into a tie for third and two wins to take over third place.
