Head Coach Mark Prosser

On Getting A Road Win against Chattanooga

“Our kids work so hard. They’re playing so hard and trying to do the right things and we have to translate that over. If we play in games as hard as we practice at times I think our record would be a bit better. We don’t spend a lot time worrying about what happened in the past, we’re very focused on the next thing on our plate. Anytime we step on the court we expect to win and we’re going to play that way.”

On Team’s Solid Night at Free Throw Line

“It’s something that we’ve worked on. Our guys put in a lot of time in the gym with the assistant coaches to get better at this. If you’re going to win on the road you have to make them and you have to take care of the basketball, and that’s something we did tonight.”

On Kameron Gibson’s Late Shots

“They were huge. He battled foul trouble early on and didn’t necessarily get in the flow of the game. He got to the rim and made a layup and then they made it a one possession game. For him to be able to make that three behind that ball screen was a huge play. It will continue to build his confidence, we had a lot of solid individual efforts and his was certainly one of them.”

On Carlos Dotson’s 10 Double-Double of 2018-19

“He’s done a very nice job. It’s a game where his defensive matches are a bit different because Chattanooga has so many kids that can shoot the basketball and as a result, he’s on the perimeter a bit more than he’s comfortable with, but he understood that and did his job. He did a nice job of getting their post players into foul trouble and when he got fouled he stepped up and made his free throws.”

Sophomore Forward Marcus Thomas

On His Career Night

“I always think I can improve, but that said it was definitely my best game. Early I got hot at 3-point line and didn’t look back from there. I kept shooting, my teammates kept feeding me once I got hot and I just kept going from there.”

On Winning at Chattanooga

“It feels great. The crowd was really lively. Anytime you can go to an opponent’s home court and get the win it’s a good feeling.
