CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina softball Head Coach Jim Clift today announced the addition of junior college transfer Kylie Shay, a pitcher from Riverside, Calif., for the 2019 season.

“We are very excited to have Kylie Shay as part of our family,” Clift said. “She brings an added dimension to our pitching staff.  Kylie will bring championship experience to our team.”

Shay comes to the Catamounts from Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. In her two years playing for the Hawks, she helped the team compile a record of 91-21 and back-to-back conference and regional championships.

As a sophomore at Howard College, Shay was named to the WJAC All-Conference Team, the all-region team and the NFCA NJCAA Division I West Region second team. She was also named the WJAC MVP. In her freshman campaign, she was named WJAC Pitcher of the Week, and WJCAC All-Conference Team.
