Lindsay Thomas came to Western Carolina in September 2017 as the assistant softball coach and just completed her second season with the Catamounts.

Thomas came to Western Carolina in 2017 after spending a season with the Austrian Softball League playing for the Vienna M-Stars. She was awarded Best Batter.

In her first season with the Catamounts, she worked with the Catamount pitchers, catchers, and outfielders. Along with assisting with the hitters. Along with Head Coach Jim Clift, the duo tutored the Catamounts to 44 homeruns on the season which tied for third in the WCU record books for homeruns in a season.

Prior to playing in Austria, Thomas spent the 2017 season as a volunteer assistant coach for Virginia Tech coaching the outfielders.

Thomas was a decorated four-year player for UNCG. She left the Spartans as the all-time leader in career batting average (.382), runs scored (189), hits (257), home runs (57) and slugging percentage (.728). A two-time NFCA All-Mideast Region and the 2013 SoCon Freshman of the Year, Thomas is only the fifth player in the history of the SoCon and the program's only four-time first team all-conference selection.

A standout in the classroom as an undergraduate, Thomas was named CoSIDA Academic-All District III as a senior and was the recipient of the SoCon Commissioner's Medal for posting a 3.5 GPA or higher as a junior.

Thomas graduated in the spring of 2016 with a degree in psychology with a Spanish minor.
