With the loss ...
- Halts the Catamounts’ four-game seasonal win streak while also relegating WCU to back-to-back losses in the all-time series with Wofford;
- WCU has dropped seven-straight games when nationally-ranked, a slide that dates back to 1994;
- The Catamounts suffered their 44th-consecutive road loss against nationally-ranked FCS competition, dropping to 3-44-2 all-time vs. ranked foes on the road and 11-79-3 all-time vs. ranked teams;

Post-Game Notes:
- Western Carolina played its first overtime game since 2013, a 27-24 home victory over Elon in Cullowhee … It was WCU’s first road overtime game since 2006, a 30-27 loss at The Citadel;

- The Catamounts were held to a season-low 157 rushing yards on Saturday at Wofford … WCU tallied a pair of rushing touchdowns, the fifth-consecutive game with two-or-more scores on the ground this season;

- Redshirt senior WR Terryon Robinson became Western Carolina’s career receptions leader as he hauled in five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown at No. 5 Wofford … Robinson eclipsed the record at the 4:52 mark of the fourth quarter on Saturday … Robinson now has 199 career receptions to move past former record holder Gerald Harp (1977-80) who had 197 catches during his Catamount career;

- Robinson has 2,487 career receiving yards, eighth in program history … His 38-yard receiving score at Wofford gives him 15 in his career, two shy of a seventh-place tie in program history;

- Returning from an injury that kept him out last week at Chattanooga, senior running back Detrez Newsome finished with 69 yards on the ground including a long of 27 … He caught one pass out of the backfield for a yard to finish with 70 all-purpose yards, snapping his streak of 18-straight games of eclipsing the 100 all-purpose yard mark;

- Newsome has 3,254 career rushing yards, third in program history – 362 yards shy of second-place Brad Hoover (3,616 yards from 1996-99);

- Quarterback Tyrie Adams led the Catamount rushing attack with 16 rushes for 76 yards and a touchdown, his second career rushing score ... He also spread the ball around through the air as he found six different receivers for a total of 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns;

- Adams continued his streak of tossing at least one TD pass in each game this season, finding the end zone twice in the passing game … It was his seventh career game with multiple touchdown passes;

- Entering the game with just three interceptions all year, Adams was picked off three times Saturday by the Wofford defense;

- Redshirt freshman RB Donnavan Spencer rushed for his second career touchdown as he scored on his lone carry of the game, tying Saturday’s game late in the fourth quarter;

- Junior defensive back Marvin Tillman and redshirt senior Tahjai Watt tied for the team lead with 13 tackles apiece ... Tillman had eight solo stops, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup while Watt, who set a new career-high with the 13 stops, produced four solo tackles and had a pass breakup;

- Redshirt junior punter Ian Berryman had a long punt of 59 yards and a 53.0 average yard punting on three attempts;

Miscellaneous Notes:
- Western Carolina's team captains for Saturday afternoon's game were: senior RB #21 Detrez Newsome, senior DB #35 Keion Crossen, redshirt senior LB #58 Daniel Riddle, redshirt senior OL #68 Tanner Poindexter, and junior P #83 Ian Berryman ... Western Carolina won the coin toss and elected to receive the opening kick … Berryman also won the overtime coin toss, choosing to play defense first in the extra session;

- Redshirt junior OL Zach Weeks carried the American flag for WCU while redshirt senior LB Tahjai Watt carried the “All You Got” flag.
