With the Loss ...
- Western Carolina remains winless against NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) competition all-time (0-51) while also remaining winless against teams from the Southeastern Conference (0-18) … It was WCU’s first-ever meeting with Texas A&M (0-1);

- WCU drops to 6-4 overall with one regular season game remaining;

Post-Game Notes:
- Sophomore tailback Detrez Newsome rushed for a game-high 111 yards for the Catamounts, his fifth, 100-yard rushing game of the season … It is the second game this year in which Newsome has eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark against a team from the SEC, tallying 128 rushing yards against Tennessee;

- Following his 111 yard performance at Texas A&M, Detrez Newsome has 968 rushing yards in 2015, just 32 yards shy of the 1,000-yard plateau … Newsome is looking to become the program’s ninth 1,000-yard rusher – and the first Catamount with 1,000 yards in a season since Darius Fudge ran for 1,001 yards in 2006, surpassing the milestone at Florida;

- Newsome moved into 10th on WCU’s single-season rushing charts with 968 yards;

- Though Newsome did not reach the end zone on the ground, he did return to the stat sheet with his second career receiving TD – a 17-yard pitch-and-catch from Troy Mitchell in the second quarter … Newsome led WCU with seven receptions, matching his career-high established at Chattanooga … the TD pass was Mitchell’s 12th of the season moving him into a tie for 13th on WCU’s single-season charts;

- Newsome finished with 159 all-purpose yards at Texas A&M;

- Western Carolina won the turnover battle against the Aggies with a +2 margin … the Catamounts came away with two interceptions one forced fumble on special teams while only suffering one giveaway on an interception in the red zone;

- Senior LB A.J. McKoy forced a special teams fumble, punching the football loose on the ensuing kickoff following WCU’s second quarter touchdown, the first of his career … Junior DE Avery Worsham scooped-and-scored on McKoy’s forced fumble, returning the football 11 yards for first career touchdown;

- Redshirt sophomore LB Daniel Riddle and freshman DB Marvin Tillman both came away with interceptions in Saturday’s game … Tillman came down with the jump ball at the end of the first half for his first career pick;

- With six tackles on Saturday, senior Sertonuse Harris has 319 career tackles to move into a tie for eighth on WCU’s career charts … Harris matched former WCU linebacker Rock Williams (2009-12);

- After a one-game hiatus (five stops against Furman), Daniel Riddle returned to double-digit tackles for WCU on Saturday, finishing with 10 total hits including four solo stops and half a tackle for loss … Riddle has posted double-digit tackles in eight of WCU’s 10 games this season, leading the team with 114 stops;

- The versatile Troy Mitchell added one new stat to his career stat line on Saturday night – punts … With WCU appearing to line-up to go for a fourth-and-short early in the game, Mitchell took the shotgun snap and proceeded to pooch a punt to the right side against the Aggies defense, netting 15 total yards … It was the first career punt for Mitchell;

- Despite managing just 58 total plays on Saturday, it was not WCU’s fewest offensive snaps this year … the Catamounts have twice been held to just 55 offensive plays (at Tennessee, at Wofford) and once with just 57 offensive plays (at Chattanooga);

- Saturday night’s attendance of 101,583 represents the second-largest crowd to witness a WCU football game all-time … It is the second-time this season that 100,000+ fans were in attendance to watch the Catamounts which included a program-record 102,136 in Knoxville (Sept. 19, 2015).

Miscellaneous Notes:
- Western Carolina's team captains for Saturday afternoon's game were junior DB #3 Fred Payne; senior DB #4 Sertonuse Harris; senior QB #10 Troy Mitchell; redshirt sophomore LB #58 Daniel Riddle; and redshirt senior OL #61 Jake Thornton ... WCU won the coin toss and will receive… sophomore DB #40 Tra Hardy received the opening kickoff at the one yard line;

- Sophomore QB #9 Wes Holcombe carried out the American flag while junior LB #27 Tyson Dickson carried out the “All You’ve Got” flag during pregame on Saturday.
