Post-Game Quotes
No. 4 Chattanooga 41, Western Carolina 13
Finley Stadium / Davenport Field
Chattanooga, Tenn.

Western Carolina head coach Mark Speir:
Post-game thoughts:
“We got our butts kicked today. In all three phases, Coach (Russ) Huesman had his team prepared. They are an excellent football team to begin with, and they came and ran it right down our throats and we couldn’t do anything about it. Chattanooga did a good job and we knew that coming in, they imposed their will on us.”

“We had too many penalties on offense. We didn’t come with the same mental intensity as they did, and you can’t play the No. 4 team in the country if you don’t bring it. We did a poor job preparing our team this week. The coaching starts with me. Our university deserves better than what we did today.”

“Now we need to find a way to regroup and get ready for Furman next week. The coaches are going to man up; the players are going to man up; and I am going to man up. We are going to find a way to regroup and be prepared. It is going to be a lesson in mental intensity. That doesn’t mean hitting each other, but instead the mental part.”
