Cullowhee, N.C. – Following a stretch of seven of eight matches inside the friendly confines of the Ramsey Center, Western Carolina volleyball hits the road for three of their final four matches of the regular season beginning with trips to Wofford and The Citadel. The Catamounts and Terriers square off on Friday at 6 p.m. before the weekend concludes with a contest against the Bulldogs at 4 p.m.

Western Carolina is 16-9 overall and third in the Southern Conference with a 10-2 record thanks to home wins over Chattanooga and Mercer last weekend. Senior libero Meagan Sanchez continues to lead the league in digs with 506 and digs per set at 5.38. The Bristow, Va. native ranks 13th nationally in digs per set.

Wofford is 13-13 overall and 6-6 in league matches with wins over UNCG and Furman last weekend. Junior middle blocker Riley Coonan was named Defensive Player of the Week on Monday with senior setter Lorissa King claiming Setter of the Week honors. Coonan leads the conference in hitting percentage at .344 while King is second in assists per set with 10.29. WCU leads the all-time series 26-15 and will look to sweep the season series for the first time since 2006.

The Citadel enters the weekend with a 4-8 conference mark and 10-15 overall record following victories over Furman and UNCG. Sharlissa De Jesus surpassed the 1,000-career kill milestone in Friday’s victory over Furman. The Catamounts lead the all-time series 31-8 and are 13-4 in matches played in Charleston.

WCU wraps up the road portion of its schedule at ETSU on Wednesday, Nov. 13 before hosting Samford on Friday, Nov. 15 for Senior Night.
