AUBURN, ALA. – The Western Carolina track & field teams opened the Tiger Track Classic at Hutsell-Rosen Track on Friday with seven top-10 finishes including one runner-up result.

Jordan Bostian was the runner-up in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:11.50. Tyler Robakiewicz finished fifth in the event as he completed his run in a new personal best 9:41.49.  

Dakota Wright finished fourth in the men’s hammer throw that traveled a distance of 54.19 meters.

In the women’s triple jump, Jada Woods finished in sixth place with her leap of 11.89 meters closely followed in seventh place by Makaila McIntyre thanks to her mark of 11.60 meters.

Benjamin Okafor scored a seventh-place finish in the men’s triple jump with his mark of 14.45 meters. Tyler Hanks finished eighth with a leap of 13.84 meters.

The meet continues Saturday at 11 a.m. local time with the women’s pole vault.
