Kiawah Island, S.C. – The Catamount women’s golf team finished out the second of three rounds at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday, knocking three strokes off their opening-round score to shoot 323 for a two-day tally of 649, 18th overall in the team standings. Sophomore Hazel Martin leads the team in a tie for 71st overall, matching her first-round score of 8-over par, 80.

Martin continues to lead the Catamounts, scoring par on 11 of the 18 holes in Monday’s second round to give her 19 over 36 holes. Freshman Amy Wooten was one stroke off her pace set Sunday, firing 81 for a two-round score of 161 in a three-way tie for 73rd.

Rounding out WCU’s scoring five is junior Brianna Plummer in a tie for 76th overall, down three spots despite cutting two strokes off her second-round score at 80 for a two-day tally of 162. Plummer is followed by sophomore Maya White (86th-t, 84-82=166) and her classmate Cameron Wood (92nd, 94-91 = 185). Plummer and White both collected their second birdies of the event on Monday while Wood posted her first birdie on the par-4 sixth.

No. 35 College of Charleston (284-291) lengthened its advantage on the team leaderboard, pulling out to a nine-stroke edge over second-place Kansas (293-291), 575-to-584. No. 34 Campbell moved ahead of North Florida with a second-round team score of 288 for a total of 585 (297-288) while the Ospreys slipped back to 589 (294-295) in fourth. Daytona State College rounds out the top five with a two-day score of 593 (298-295).

First-round individual leader Clarissa von Stosch of the College of Charleston stretched her lead by three-strokes, following her opening-round 68 with a 1-under par 71 for a two-day score of 5-under, 139. Campbell’s Anna Nordfors vaulted 19 spots on Monday, countering her 2-over par 74 on Sunday with a 4-under round of 68 on Monday to sit three strokes in arrears at 142.
