Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina today released its 2018 football broadcast schedule for 10 of the 11 regular season games that include an array of outlets on which to catch the Catamounts this season. Eight of WCU’s football games – four at home and four on the road – will be broadcast on ESPN+ with two games – one at home, one on the road – earmarked for ESPN3.
All told, a total of 124 Southern Conference home sporting events, including all 46 home football games, will appear on ESPN3 (free with internet or television subscription) or ESPN+ (subscription fee), with one football game each week on ESPN3 and the remaining contests appearing on ESPN+, the league announced on Friday.

Fans in the viewing area of WYCW CW62 (channel 62) out of Greenville, S.C., which includes western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina, can additionally catch the annual “Battle for Purple Supremacy” with Furman over linear television with Furman’s production.

In addition, every Western Carolina football game can be heard LIVE on the Catamount Sports Network (CSN) with the radio broadcast over seven affiliates including WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee; 105.7 FM & 540 AM WRGC in Sylva; 104.9 FM & 1050 AM WFSC in Franklin; and WISE Sports Radio 102.9 FM & 1310 AM in Asheville. Fans can also follow live CSN streaming audio through Stretch Internet free-of-charge online at CatamountSports.com.
Each week, the CSN pregame tailgate show starts 60 minutes prior to the scheduled kickoff time and includes comments from head coach Mark Speir, in-game scoreboard updates, as well as other special features.
Concluding its sixth preseason practice on Friday morning in shells, the WCU football team returns to the practice field for its first scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 11 beginning at Noon. All of WCU’s preseason football practices are open to the public. It is respectfully requested, though, that spectators observe from the stadium seating area and avoid being either on the field or the sidelines for safety. Also, all practice times are subject to change.
