Prior to Western Carolina: Comes to Western Carolina from Gulf Coast State Community College where she spent two years ... In her sophomore campaign at Gulf Coast ... Rushin played in 11 games shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free throw line.

High School: Initially signed with Louisiana Tech prior to attending Gulf Coast State Community College when she graduated from Benjamin E. Mays High School. As a senior, she helped the team to the finals of the AAAAA state playoffs falling 65-56 to Stephenson High School. She led the program to the state playoffs as a junior helping the team finish third in the region.
